FEATURED VENDOR: AZ FLOWER FIX

Hi blog readers!

Today I am putting the spotlight on one of my favorite vendors, AZ Flower Fix! I got to hang out with Aubri, the owner of AZ Flower Fix, at her home recently and we had fun documenting what she does best...creating beautiful arrangements! I've worked with AZ Flower Fix a few times and have never been disappointed! If you need florals for any occasion, please don't hesitate to contact her at aubrimacd4@gmail.com.  To see more of her work, please visit her website, .http://www.azflowerfix.com/. Enjoy the Q&A session below as well as the beautiful photos from our session!

JMP:  How long have you been in business?

AFF:  I started my first florist business in 2002 and in 2004, decided to put it on hold while I raised my two kids. I continued to do arrangements, weddings and other event flowers for friends and family when asked but didn’t really pursue it as a business. In 2014, I decided I wanted to make floral design a bigger part of my life again. So, long story short, I have been designing floral arrangements for 16 years.

JMP:  What made you want to open this type of business and how did you come up with your business name?

AFF:  I have always loved flowers and all things that grow. I wanted something that was obvious, easy to pronounce and a little catchy. I thought of my love of flowers and the “fix” you can get from having them around. Flowers just make everything better.

JMP:  Tell us a little bit about your business.

AFF:  I am a home-based floral design business. I do everything right out of my kitchen. I have a few people I will use if I need help or an extra set of hands, but for the most part it’s just me. I love being creative and using unique containers for my arrangements. If you order an arrangement from me it will likely come in a container or vase that I picked out especially for you or your event. I like to be intentional with my designs.

JMP:  What services does your business offer?

AFF:  I primarily do wedding flowers, however I also do arrangements for any event or occasion. I will do a single birthday arrangement, flower crowns, corsages and boutonnieres for Prom, centerpieces for a corporate event, funeral arrangements or just about anything you can think of.

JMP:  What are five words that describe your business?

AFF:  Personal, Creative, Colorful, Reliable & Adaptable

JMP: What is the most popular flower?

AFF:  Roses

JMP:  Can you work with any budget or is there a minimum budget?

AFF:  I can absolutely work with any budget! I am very flexible and I pride myself on working with a customer to maximize the value of their dollar. I want them to have the most beautiful wedding day or event possible.

JMP:  What is your opinion on real flowers versus faux flowers?

AFF:  I prefer fresh flowers and encourage others to use fresh flowers, however I can work with silks if that is what my client wants. In my opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than fresh flowers.

JMP:  How many weddings do you take in one day?

AFF:  I typically will only do one wedding in a day, unless I have two weddings that are very small or just single arrangements. I will never say yes to more than I can handle. My clients are my priority and I will give them 100% of my time and energy.

JMP:  When should they book their florist?

AFF:  Ideally, the earlier the better for booking your florist. My schedule tends to fill up quickly, especially during the busy wedding season.

JMP:  How many weddings have you done?

AFF:  I’ve done dozens of weddings over my 16 years of designing flowers.

JMP:  What questions should brides and grooms ask before booking a florist?

AFF:  A florist can create any style you desire. With that being said, each floral designer will have a style of their own. Look through the designer’s portfolio to see if they are a good fit for the wedding flowers you desire. My particular style is a fuller look. I like to use more flowers and less filler flowers packed into a gorgeous sphere.

JMP:  What is the current trend?

AFF:  Big, messy asymmetrical and bohemian bouquets are all the rage right now.

JMP:  What is the trendy color right now?

AFF:  Burgundy has been a very popular color lately. I have heard that purple is the next big color.

JMP:  Do you drop the flowers off on the wedding day? If so, is there a drop off fee?

AFF:  I do deliver and set up all the flowers at no additional cost. The only time there might be a delivery fee is if the destination is outside of the Metro Phoenix area

JMP:  Can they request any type of style for the bouquet?

AFF:  The sky is the limit. I can create anything and any style.

JMP:  How far in advanced will the wedding bouquets be made?

AFF:  Typically wedding flowers are created the day before the event and then stored in a refrigerator.

JMP:  Do you offer a free wedding consultation?

AFF:  Yes, I meet my prospective clients for coffee to discuss their wants and needs. I then send them an estimate based on what we talked about. After that, if they choose to use me for their wedding florals, I then ask for a $100 deposit that will be applied to the overall balance. This deposit will secure my services for their desired date.

JMP:  Do you rent centerpieces?

AFF:  I do not have any inventory to rent out. The cost of my centerpieces reflect the containers they come in.

JMP:  Do you have a package that includes centerpieces?

AFF:  I do not have any packages. Every wedding or event I bid on is unique and as such requires an individual estimate.

JMP:  Do you have any tips on how to pick out the wedding colors?

AFF:  My best advice is to spend time looking at pictures on social media and Pinterest. Narrow down your likes and dislikes. I would be more than happy to help a bride make decisions on color, theme or any other details.
