Kayla | Photo shoot at DUMBO | Brooklyn, New York
I met Kayla for our photo shoot at the area known as DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). I was excited because although I've visited New York many times, this was my first time at this Brooklyn neighborhood (my focus on prior trips was mainly on Manhattan).
DUMBO, a small neighborhood with amazing views of Manhattan and beautiful bridges (my favorite being the Brooklyn Bridge), can be accessed via the the subway and/or a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan side.
Kevin and I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel in Manhattan (44th Street/5th Avenue) and caught the subway at the 42nd Street/Bryant Park station. We took the F downtown train all the way to DUMBO and got off at York Street (nine stops). We walked around the neighborhood before the shoot and were in awe of its combo of old warehouses, shops, restaurants (Grimaldi's & Shake Shack!), and high rise apartments.
I could have spent many more hours in this neighborhood - love it so much! Thank you Kayla for suggesting DUMBO for our shoot and introducing me to yet another great New York City neighborhood!
