Palmer Home Session | Family Photography

When Kylee told me that she did not want the typical newborn session (lots of posing and props) and more of a lifestyle session with the baby and older kids, I was ecstatic! I love lifestyle sessions! With temps in Phoenix upwards of 110+ ℉ every day, doing a session in an air-conditioned place sounded like heaven! 

Kylee has the most well-mannered kids! Blayke is such a sweet baby and was alert for most of the session. I was able to capture some funny and adorable expressions she made! Big sister Ashton is a replica of her mom - they look like twins! Ashton was such a great help when Blayke’s soiled diaper needed to be changed and when she needed to be held and rocked to sleep. The boys, Nixon and Jonas, were so sweet and also helped out. I really enjoyed spending time with this family, and the kids made my job so easy by always being willing to help me get the shots I needed. Kylee did not look like she recently gave birth - Blayke was less than two weeks old when we had our session!

If you are thinking of an in-home lifestyle session, but not sure how it will go, worry no more! I really enjoy photographing families (especially kids) at their home because everyone is much more relaxed. Kids tend to be more willing to listen to direction and smile often because they are familiar with the surroundings! I usually take a few minutes before the session starts to get to know your child so that he or she will warm up to me - and they usually do! Since the session will take place in one or two areas of the home - usually the master bedroom, living room, or wherever the light is best - the whole house does not have to be clean from top to bottom. Plus, I am not there to judge how clean or unclean the house is - I am there to capture beautiful memories for you and your family. Oftentimes I will be snapping photos in the background, with some direction here and there to keep the session flowing smoothly.
