Hom & Van | Engagement Session at Scottsdale Civic Center

As a photographer, I have been extremely lucky to get to work with all kinds of amazing human beings. As you would expect, every couple is different from the next. Some are all about the PDA, some are all about keeping it sweet and romantic, and some… well, some are just downright hysterical!

Meet Hom and Van, two of the goofiest people I have worked with. The session took place at the Scottsdale Civic Center, which was a great backdrop for our time together.

This couple met via Facebook, which I think is awesome (and normal in this day and age)! Hom and Van ran in the same circles and as Hom knows a good man when she sees one, initiated the contact – you go girl!

Chivalry is definitely not dead, just ask Hom. They have been together for five years and Van is still very much a gentleman – treats her like a lady and holds the door open for her, always.

During a family gathering, Van managed to surprise Hom when he made a heartfelt speech and proposed in front of their loved ones. Of course she said YES!

In his words: “I love her sense of humor and style. I love her compassion, respect for family values and her commitment to loving me unconditionally. She is everything I could hope for and more. She understands me better than anyone I know and relies on my strengths and weaknesses as much as I do her. She is my better half and the reflection of myself that completes every blood cell in my heart.”

In her words: “Love that he's always thinking about how to make our family better and happier.  He's the Prince Charming that I've always dreamt of.”

Although these two are waiting a bit to officially tie the knot, I am sure there will be plenty of laughs until then. But really, with a relationship as lighthearted and fun as this one, I do not think they will need any luck at all!
